Project Date: Fall 2024
The Assignment
In celebration of the grand opening of the Fort Worth Public Library’s Clifford Crossing Branch, I designed a custom mural that draws inspiration from my Fort Worth and Texas coloring books. The mural features locally recognizable landmarks and cultural elements designed to spark community pride and engagement, especially among young visitors. The mural was installed on vinyl.
To complement the mural, I participated in the grand opening event, where I autographed and distributed Fort Worth Coloring Books to attendees. Children were invited to take part in a mural-themed scavenger hunt using a specially designed activity sheet, encouraging them to explore the library and engage with the artwork in a fun and educational way. I also created a custom coloring page tailored to the event, reinforcing the themes of creativity, literacy, and community.
